Mmph, Mondays.
Apr. 14th, 2009 06:13 pmAahhh braindead at work today. I'm like a zombie or something. Graghh, brainnns. :F
I've been looking at The Dieline for inspiration for some gift set sleeves I need to design. It's a really cool site, has all kinds of package design (mostly good, a few bad...). Also, Photoshop Disasters (thanks to
ziggybecket) is pretty funny. It's amazing what goes unnoticed (or people think won't go unnoticed) before going to print/use.
So, I got a jury duty summons...for the week of Fanime.
I'm totally seeing if I can postpone it as I'm planning to fly up and the last thing I need is for them to call me in on Friday. I doubt there'd be an issue to do so but it's still a bit frustrating to deal with. Do I even need to give them a reason for postponement? Or will I be talking to an automated recording thing? Never done this before...
Fffff aldkjsl @ Fanime. God, why is time going by SO FAST? I need to GET ON IT, ride it, my pony.
REMINDER TO SELF: GET PLANE TICKET ASAP
Sorry
random_karen, I don't think I have enough time to make formal!Maka. :x Next time/another con/photoshoot for sure, yeah?
And I might as well pimp it out again: Soul Eater at Fanime! You know you want to~
Oh yeah. I watched Eden of the East a few days ago. It was one of the few series I was looking forward to the most this season and lol the first episode was interesting. Case in point:

Both the OP and ED were nice. The first mixed kinetic typography with that style of using swirls and texture along with the characters which was different. The latter was reminiscent of the Honey & Clover OP with the use of stop animation except this time it was with paper which was really cool~
It's by Production I.G., can't really go wrong there in terms of good animation. Heck, even GITS producer's on staff. Anyway, the pacing of the entire episode was somewhat like a movie...I wonder if it's because it's only going to be 11 episodes + a movie. I was surprised at the English the Americans spoke, but it was a bit awkward and weird that they understood what Saki and Akira said in Japanese and didn't question it. I'm still wondering why that man gave Akira his pants, haha.

So far, I'm liking the chemistry between Saki and Akira. She's not toooo stereotypically dumb girly and he's a quirky and smart and *squee~* @ him looking kind of like Morita. X3 It's built up quite a a bit of mystery surrounding Akira, so yeah, I'm totally looking forward to the rest of the series. It definitely sucked me in and I think it's one of the better series out there this season.
