Interesting things from yesterday:

• Witnessed a guy eat it hard when trying to jump from the sidewalk to the street on his bike, only to have his handlebars pop off as he did so. I pulled over to make sure he was alright.@___@;


• Listening to a random KPop playlist on playlist.com while cosworking. Weirdest lyrics heard: "I really want to touch myself." Weirdest song heard: Seaside by DBSK, Super Junior & SHINee, which sounds like it should be in a Korean dubbed version of The Little Mermaid.

Awesome thing about today: IT'S FRIDAY, FRIDAY, FRIDAY

Hm, I think I had a dream about wearing the wrong pants for Tieria. I had on a pair of darker khaki corduroy rather than a lighter normal pair, I don't even know...and then it shifted to luffyxii talking to me about either Black Butler or PMK, lol. XD Oh mah brainnn.

And crap. I forgot to bring the shampoo + receipt so I can go to Target after work to make an exchange. I totally grabbed two shampoos, instead of one shampoo and one conditioner. Found out the hard way last night -- at least I had some conditioner left from another bottle so I still look Garnier Fructislicious.

Five Things about Cosplay:

1. Influence

I had never known about cosplay until I went to my first con, AX in 2003. Yes, I'm a late bloomer and I was never that teen who thought that every single thing from Japan was awesomesauce, but I had known about costuming however -- "Oh the people who dress up like Star Wars at sci-fi cons?" My sis and I thought it'd be fun to try and so we did the following year and well, that was when I sold my soul. I never intended for this to be such a...consuming hobby but hi, I'm still here and enjoying every bit of it.

2. Character Trend

Obscure or secondary characters from popular series, characters from obscure series...canon fodder. They all have one thing in common: they need more love. I'm ultimately attracted to those and I like not being the umpteenth person cosplaying a particular character. Though, I do have my share of those. As for character type...it varies but ranges between emo and angry to cute and bubbly and sometimes bratty. All cosplays seem to involve kickass girls and crossplays end up being uke. Bah. Then I have random ones I was somehow coerced into doing, lol. I also do try to pick characters I know I can decently pull off, which means I can never do sexy manly men. Booo.

3. Cosplay Handle

The way I came about Evanae has nothing to do with cosplay nor is it very interesting/cool/etc., lol. I had realized I didn't want to use artsigurl forever. It's also sooo dated (yet I kept it for when I moved from Yahoo! to Gmail XD). So anyway, I'm driving somewhere, thinking of nicknames and Evanescence came on the radio. Well, do the math: Evanescence - scence + a = Evanae. Tada~ Lol. And no, I'm not a fan of hers, I just stole half her name. 8D;

4. Most Resemblence

My face is just too round for most anime characters...Uhm, maybe Auel, Maka and Nanao? I don't think I'm too bad in Tetsu, Lunamaria and Soi Fong.

5. Favorite

At the moment, Maka, Auel and Tetsu. Lunamaria's always fun to wear. But they all have a place in my heart and closet or else I wouldn't have made them. :P

I was originally perusing devART for references cuz I can't for the LIFE OF ME draw the stupid 3/4, almost profile view of a face. *grumbles* Then I somehow ended up looking up Soul Eater stuff and ditching the pose I was trying to draw. XD;;

:: I came home to a clean room. My mom had cleaned it and now I can't find jack shit. And I probably won't for oh...like a month. X( I hate it when she does this. *siiigh*

For some reason, she had moved the trash can so that it was next to my chair which meant I'd probably trip over it knowing me...so I moved it back to its original spot where I noticed it used to sit on a box that was still there whose contents were a mystery to me.

WTF. LOL. Where did these come from!? I swear to god I like...sold them off at Fanime swap meet a few years ago. O___o; Okay well uh...guess I'm going to try to sell some shit this time around too since I have a bag full of junk in the closet to get rid of. Anyone wanna share some floor space with me?

*blinks* There was absolutely NO traffic on the way to work today. That was REALLY weird yet cool. Except I was stuck behind a REALLY slow car for like 2 miles on the way to the fwy entrance. >__>;

Omfg, KIIS FM was playing Ginuwine's "Pony". Dudeee, flashback to the 90s! I was in 7th grade when that came out. Except y'know, I didn't realize it was that dirty of a song until later on, lool. Looking at the lyrics now...DAMN, how did it ever get played on the radio?

And of course, the song's stuck in my head now.

Last nite, I realized that I sew way too freakin' slow. I don't think my mom watching Lost in my room helped. It's really weird seeing Pippin as a druggie rock star. XD; I also noticed that when I sew by myself, I cannot stay up past 1 or 2 am. Fail.

Sadly, I didn't get anything done on the list I put up yesterday. Well, I'm like 95% done on Akizuki's top so I guess that's some progress?

And yay~ New loafers and gold contacts came in! I had stuff I bought for Ycon shipped to Nard's house so my mom wouldn't suspect or nag. He brought the packages to work today. I want to try the contacts on right now just so I know if they really are gold cuz they don't really look it in the packaging but I don't want the office to get freaked out. ^^;

Ok, that was a semi-pointless post. I'll see if I can put up progress and/or test shots tonight.

*EDIT* I just caught up on 07-Ghost and Tsubasa right now on my lunch break.

Random news: Uh, so 4chan is down and I don't know if it's indefinitely. I also dunno what the reason is or what happened...nor do I really care. XD;

But I got a call from silvernaofficer around 11 am asking if I could check traffic on the 405 S cuz she was stuck and also search for what happened to 4chan cuz someone in her car got a text from a friend of a friend about it being down. XDD

My Google-fu turned up nothing concrete other than that it's down. One entry on Digg (not that I think that's reliable anyway) said that admin had posted the reason(s) on the homepage but uh...site's down so you can't see it anyway, lol. Good job.

*EDIT* Hah, wrong fwy. Oops.

:: Aaah, fucking laptop. It took me about an hour to figure out how to turn on the freakin' bluetooth. There were two icons under Control Panel, those didn't turn it on. There was a small icon in taskbar, that didn't turn it on either. Guess where it was? Freakin' FN + F5. I had to google it to figure it out. How about an on switch on the actual screen? :|

It occassionally gets used for film production but today, it looked like there was going to be some sort of festival there. I look at the six or seven banners hanging from the chainlink fence. There's Korean on it, okaayy why is there a Korean festival in Chinatown? Then I look a the dude. IT'S FUCKING MC HAMMER, WHAT THE HELL!??! LOOL.

Oh btw, jangmi when's a good time to drive on over to pick up my cell phone charger? Unless you want to mail it to me and I reimburse you? I've somehow been keeping phone-chan alive via the car charger whenever I'm in the car. ^^;
