Lolli Lolli Oh Lollipop

So...I'm going to Sakuracon. It was a spur of the moment thing and airfare was a bit of a bitch, but I'm excited to get the chance to explore Seattle. Any suggestions on what sakurae, eeveil, and I could do? Any places we must go to eat? :9 Oh and yeah, there's the con, haha. I still don't know what costumes to bring...

SAKURA GATHERING

I think I'm going later on in the month...like after Wondercon or something. I hope there will still be flowers by then? I should go look at the Facebook group for updates, huh?

SAKURACON

Either Maka again or Yui with sakurae's Mio...or bring both? Idk. I'd bring something from Bleach for that one seiyuu (I totally know my seiyuu...), but I don't want to travel with Apache's horn and I think I'd freeze in Soi Fong. I also doubt I'd be able to meet him nor would I know what to say other than smile, haha.

FANIME

- Suu's the only one that is confirmed.
- Ventus, I'd be wearing by myself so it depends how much time I have left after I finish Suu...not that I have much to finish for him, but lol hi armor.
- Yagyuu is up to melts and eeveil. Yay? Nay?
- Scarlet Kiss is weather permitting and thrown in there for the sake of something else to wear.

It's so weird to have such an empty, up-in-the-air schedule... I know Suu will probably take up a lot time and effort to make, but I feel like I should throw in some rewears or if it's new, something hella easy. Any suggestions? I don't want to wear Suu for more than 2 times over the weekend as I'm sure the wings will be a hindrance after a while.

I went to Balboa Park again this past Sunday. I didn't get there until 4 pm because I had a family lunch to go to and of course, the restaurant was packed when we got there. It was great to see everyone and thank you super_no_1 for taking pics! It was cool walking around the park -- to places I didn't even know existed or went to before.

:: Aahh, caught up with you guys' posts. That took a while. @_@;

:: I can't believe it's March already! It's amazing how time has been flying by. Though, I do wish it'd slow down when it matters.

:: I should start on Fanime stuff soon. Maybe this weekend...And I might switch out Akizuki and/or Yui for Frau raeps Tater tiem with eeveil.

:: So I guess I'm going to Sakura Gathering after all. My costume's a surprise~ I've never had a secret cosplay before and am terribly amused by the fact that I finally have a one, lol. I'll, of course, bring my camera so I can be trigger happy. Or does anyone wanna lemme borrow a nicer camera to practice with? *puppy eyes*

Though where is Russel? I agree with one of the comments, it would've been awesome to see him pop outta the trunk and blast Willis away. XD

Y'know that new Audi commercial where a bunch of kids get out of school only to find that all their parents' cars parked on the curb look the same? That was filmed at my high school. XD;

Five Things about Cosplay:

1. Influence

I had never known about cosplay until I went to my first con, AX in 2003. Yes, I'm a late bloomer and I was never that teen who thought that every single thing from Japan was awesomesauce, but I had known about costuming however -- "Oh the people who dress up like Star Wars at sci-fi cons?" My sis and I thought it'd be fun to try and so we did the following year and well, that was when I sold my soul. I never intended for this to be such a...consuming hobby but hi, I'm still here and enjoying every bit of it.

2. Character Trend

Obscure or secondary characters from popular series, characters from obscure series...canon fodder. They all have one thing in common: they need more love. I'm ultimately attracted to those and I like not being the umpteenth person cosplaying a particular character. Though, I do have my share of those. As for character type...it varies but ranges between emo and angry to cute and bubbly and sometimes bratty. All cosplays seem to involve kickass girls and crossplays end up being uke. Bah. Then I have random ones I was somehow coerced into doing, lol. I also do try to pick characters I know I can decently pull off, which means I can never do sexy manly men. Booo.

3. Cosplay Handle

The way I came about Evanae has nothing to do with cosplay nor is it very interesting/cool/etc., lol. I had realized I didn't want to use artsigurl forever. It's also sooo dated (yet I kept it for when I moved from Yahoo! to Gmail XD). So anyway, I'm driving somewhere, thinking of nicknames and Evanescence came on the radio. Well, do the math: Evanescence - scence + a = Evanae. Tada~ Lol. And no, I'm not a fan of hers, I just stole half her name. 8D;

4. Most Resemblence

My face is just too round for most anime characters...Uhm, maybe Auel, Maka and Nanao? I don't think I'm too bad in Tetsu, Lunamaria and Soi Fong.

5. Favorite

At the moment, Maka, Auel and Tetsu. Lunamaria's always fun to wear. But they all have a place in my heart and closet or else I wouldn't have made them. :P
