Lolli Lolli Oh Lollipop

I bought a smaller wannabe-Moleskin sketchbook from Kinokuniya the other day. It’s got pretty nice thick paper and a handy elastic tie thing. :D I’d love to start drawing again on a slightly more regular basis and I was hoping a sketchbook I can bring with me wherever was a good start. I guess, we’ll see!

What do I draw in it first? My current quick-to-becoming-obsession: Tiger & Bunny.

I'm kinda d'awing that Kotetsu turned out so disgruntled. I love me some ojii-san. XD

(Ignore that half of Bunny’s face is missing. I couldn’t for the life of me get his other eye to be symmetrical…)

Happy Chinese New Year!



This was a little something bluestraggler and I collab'ed on. It's actually missing her half, lol. So uh, I'll upload the final one later on. It somehow wasn't very hard to talk me into drawing Hetalia. Taiwan's just so cute. :x I also surprised myself with the dynamic posing and I actually really like it for once and minus a few proportional errors.

I had dinner with the family on New Year's Eve. My sister's boyfriend brought some delicious mini brownies. *___*

On the day of, I went to the Huntington Library with Ben. It wasn't as awesome as I thought it'd be – I think I went there as a kid, but obviously don't remember anything from the trip. Or maybe I'm a bit spoiled from the Arboretum. But then again, all these garden places look the same. There are only so many plants. The magnolias were REALLY pretty though. :O Anyway, have some pics that I was too lazy to edit. :x

Today, random_karen and I went on an adventure to Chinatown for their Chinese New Year festival. We braved the subways of Los Angeles to Union Station cuz I didn't want to deal with parking and well, it wasn't that bad, haha. The last time I rode them was about 8 or 9 years ago, so I wasn't sure what to expect.

We met up with super_no_1, itsuka and derishnol near that somewhat gaudy dragon entrance on Broadway and Cesar Chavez and just walked around. There were many cutesy, artsy booths. I bought a necklace and a "Keep Calm and Carry On" pin (where did that even originate from?). I had wanted to try the grilled cheese truck, but couldn't find it! So I resorted to the Munchie Machine(?) where I had a veggetini sandwich which was pretty good but needed more CHEESE. Then, of course, we find that there were more food trucks around the bend, including the one I had wanted to try all along. Cry. ;( Ah well.

After wandering a bit more, we stopped to watch part of the parade. It was somewhat lackluster and almost kinda sad because it seemed that most people didn't know who any of the people in the parade were. Like, who's the cast of Paper Son? But I can now say I saw Carl Bell in person! :D Haha.

We walked by some ping pong tables near the art galleries there. SO MUCH ACTION GOING ON. Then we found an empty lot with a bunch more booths of the less creative type. Pechanga was there, lol. As well as the FBI and Navy, uhhh. The funnel cake booth teased me. We thought it to be too crowded and decided to be lazy and ride the Gold Line a whopping two stops to Little Tokyo, haha. There we had yummy Yogurtland and then, Jennifer and Noel left. :C Then rest of us had sang out hearts out at Max Karaoke. :Db

Yup. All in all. A fun day. :]

I just read this online comic I found thanks to kikinasai and wow, it has gorgeous illustration. I LOVE the colors and the texture. The concept is really intriguing with a serious undertone. I wasn't aware that you're not able see any stars in China due to its air pollution. o_o And I thought we were bad, lol.

I want to follow this story now, but I don't know if I want to go back to using devART. I dislike how no one really gives you concrit and how confusing it is to categorize thing...I don't know. Why do you guys bother with this site?

Work was amazingly boring and slow today so uh, I ended up doodling. >>;



I still don't like drawing hands. Nor Soul's hair, I don't know why it's so hard. Maybe it's the lack of a decent amount of spikes? There's also a bit of awkwardness because they ended up not being on the same plane. I tried to fix in Photoshop but it still looks a bit off...Whatever, here ya go. Oh and anime characters and Japanese men are the only guys imo, who can pull off hair accessories and look hot in it -- I want a Japanese boyfriend so I can play with his hair. XDD

There was surprisingly no traffic on the drive down to the LBC to meet up with eeveil, kircheis, sprkldragon86 and Courtney at Super Mex for some good ol' Mexican food to celebrate Cinco de Mayo like the Mexicans we are. The food was GOOD though. The Cadillac Margarita was decent but wtf it had no salt on the rim of the glass. I wasn't about to sit there licking the cup and sprinkling salt from the shaker all night either...

Justine is amazing. 8D

Yesterday was dinner at Mimi's Cafe with Da Posse. It was nice to hang out with them since I don't see them as often as you guys. I had a sparkling wine strawberry lemonade. :9 What is this alcoholism? It's only Tuesday, omg. DX We made plans to go visit Steph in Chicago sometime in August, so if it happens before I go to Taiwan, I'll try to go as well. Woo traveling~

Nard recently gave me the P90X videos and I've been trying to start it but ugh...it just doesn't happen. u__u; I either am not home on weekends so I cannot continuously work out or I go out after work, come home and feel that it's too late to do anything. *flops around*

Anndd~ Does Maka have buttons on both sides of her cuffs? O__o; I thought of it but couldn't tell when I watched ep 8 and 9 rite now.

♥ Kidd and Black*Star's adventure and oooo Stein is coool. XDD Oh gosh, I haven't ever really been dorky enough to want to re-enact scenes from a show but SE has SO MANY I'd love to do or have ppl do. *cough*parasol+book*cough*

I decided to practice perspective w/ this one and I think it came out...okay. I'm decently satisfied with it. The main character (front) and Junpei (back) were pretty easy to draw but for some reason Akihiko (right) was really frustrating. D8; I'm still not satisfied with how he turned out...maybe it's cuz his head looks a bit too big for him? Or are the shoulders off? Whatever, I'm forcing myself to stop fiddling with it. I can prolly go on forever being all nitpicky.

I hope you like this, Oscar! I'll email you a wallpaper-sized colored version when I get it done. What's your resolution btw?
