WEEZERRRR 8D

AT THE OC FAIRRRR

So yup. [livejournal.com profile] itsuka, [livejournal.com profile] yoursenq, [livejournal.com profile] super_no_1 and I went to the OC Fair in the beginning of August to see a Weezer show. Shh, I know I just saw them at the Memories Tour end of last year. I wanted to see them again. Yes. That soon. Shush. Anyway, they were fucking awesome as usual! 8D!

I took off early from work and went to pick up Setsu on my way down to the OC. We met up with Jennifer and Nergene there and had nomming time. I had a philly cheesesteak, a churro and a lemonade (oh god so good on that hot day). I don't know how I still remember that...Anyway after stuffing our faces, we headed to the Pacific Amphitheatre. Jennifer and I got ourselves some beer and there was also cotton candy and kettle corn and we all settled down in our seats for the show to come.

The band came out to the 21st Century Fox fanfare much to my amusement and went immediately into song. No introduction, but yeah I don't think they need such frivolities anymore. Rivers...I'll never get over how good he looks for his age cuz seriously -- minus his thinning hair -- he basically still looks the same. He did sport this huge tribal sleeve tattoo though. He never addressed it and I thought it looked odd, yet...fitting for him. He always seemed to be the quirky type. He was crazy as usual with his antics: He grabbed some guy's hat and wore it. He ran around in the audience way more than enough (of course, sadly, he never got close to us ;A; ). At one point, someone threw him some giant briefs with =W= on it. He held it up to the audience with a look of, "Wtf?"...and proceeds to put it on over his pants and wears it for the rest of the concert. XD It also dawned on me that he'd make a freakin' awesome Quailman for Halloween, hahaha. They ended the night crowding around the drums to while singing Buddy Holly. Woo!

The Set List:
"Troublemaker"
"Surf Wax America"
"Perfect Situation"
"No One Else"
"Undone (The Sweater Song)"
"Pumped Up Kicks" (Foster the People cover) - OH FUCK YEAH
"My Name is Jonas"
"Dope Nose"
"Island in the Sun"
"Pork and Beans"
"Pink Triangle"
"Photograph"
"Keep Fishin'"
"Hashpipe"
"Paranoid Android" (Radiohead cover)
"Beverly Hills"
"Say It Ain't So"

Encore:
"If You're Wondering If I Want You To (I Want You To)"
"Buddy Holly"

After a very awesome, fun and fulfilling show, we all ate some more! We got that funnel cake that comes with ice cream. Mmmmm. I was amused by the pizza on a stick. Oh and we also visited the ice sculpture exhibit. It was VERY cold, lol.

A good night overall. A very good night indeed. :D

I saw R.E.D. last night with [livejournal.com profile] silvernaofficer and [livejournal.com profile] mollypocket at the Arclight Theaters. Man, that theater's crazy fancy. Their board of movies tells you when seating's begun, in progress or stopped for a showing. It was also quite odd being able to choose where you sit. I've done the assigned seating in theaters but they were in Taiwan and I didn't get to choose. They also have a glorified usher welcoming us to the movie. I seriously thought she was going to give us a synopsis of what we were about to watch, but she didn't, lol. I liked how they had no movie trivia questions nor advertisements from local establishments before the showtime.

The movie itself was entertaining. I really loved Helen Mirren in it, haha. And John Malkovich wasn't bad either in a wow crazy man sort of way. He was very good for lulz. Cut for spoilers, in case. )

Afterwards, we were on a hunt for dinner. I had found a sushi place in Hollywood, only to find that it was closed, wtf. So, we wandered a bit down Hollywood Boulevard and ended up at Lotería, some fancier smancier Mexican place. The food was pretty good. I didn't appreciate our waiter not telling us that the chips and salsa/guacamole weren't on the house. But, I guess it was also our fault for not asking? We're all so used to getting free bread, chips and salsa, etc. at other restaurants.

Then it was off to Cinespace, where we weren't ready to be surrounded by hordes of hipsters. The carpet also vaguely smelled of soggy wetness. Gross. Then the carpet in the actual room with the stage was all sticky. Even grosser. I went for Wyatt's band One Silver Astronaut. They weren't bad, really chill mellow stuff. Though the xylophone bugged the crap out of me. Maybe the mic on it was too loud... Kiev was pretty cool. We didn't get to see the remaining bands as we left around 11:30 pm. Ah well.

Bonnie wanted to make a drinking game out of how many people were wearing flannel shirts. Or leggings. Or messenger bags. I think we would've been smashed within 20 minutes.

While walking to Cinespace, we came up to some random guy who was air shooting cars driving by with an imaginary rifle. o___o; Then there were three random teenage boys trying to chat it up with us or something. Oh Hollywood. It's like a tamer version of Vegas at night.

Hey, look pics + a video! )

Day 02- The meaning behind your LiveJournal name.

I think most of you know this already. It's a rather boring story. I needed an alias for cosplay and couldn't think of anything for the longest time that wasn't something lame or extremely weaboo. So I was driving somewhere and an Evanescence song came on the radio. The result was basically EVAN(+A)E-(scence). Yeahhh....and I don't even like her, though butchering "Bring Me to Life" at karaoke once in a while is exhilaratingly hilarious. |D

✿ I wanna go karaoke. Anyone wanna come with me? :C

✿ I also wanna go hiking here. It looks so cool! And I love the idea of having to cross rivers, but I don't have waterproof shoes...

✿ Saturday was the day of hanging out at people's houses. I went to [livejournal.com profile] lyceeangel's in the daytime where she made one of the best cupcakes I've ever had. It was a coffee chocolate cupcake with vanilla cream cheese frosting. *___* Then it was to [livejournal.com profile] strongest_shld's place where I almost got carpal tunnel thanks to Green Day Rockband. Woo!

✿ Have some random photos I've taken recently:

So the zoo. Los Angeles Zoo to be exact. It was fun. It was hot. It was a tad bit too crowded for my liking. It was cool to see all the animals, but at the same time I was a bit sad too that they were enclosed.

We got to catch the bird show. It was a bit short...but wow crazy birds!! I wish I got pics of them but they were kinda flying in and out from everywhere. It's really fascinating how smart birds are.

They had dinosaurs!

Moar here. )

Hallo.

✿ Wow, I didn't realize there were that many July babies. Happy Birthday to [livejournal.com profile] tasu, [livejournal.com profile] kircheis, [livejournal.com profile] silver_ruby, [livejournal.com profile] treat, [livejournal.com profile] sani_caranza, [livejournal.com profile] aticktockheart, [livejournal.com profile] agentsakur9, [livejournal.com profile] bluestraggler, [livejournal.com profile] ycysusan, [livejournal.com profile] evalime, [livejournal.com profile] luffyxii and [livejournal.com profile] unlock!! ♥

✿ INCEPTION. I saw it with my sis on Saturday night and oh god, wow, that was one amazing movie. It gave me hope that the American movie industry isn't done for or well at least we should have only Christopher Nolan make movies. No more of this Cats vs. Dogs and Twilight shit.

... )

✿ I went to the LA Zoo two weeks ago with Ben, Sara and Alex. That was fun. But it was a very hot day. X__x; Even most of the animals were all lethargic, too. Pics will be up tonight!

✿ Speaking of pics, need to look at Fanime ones from [livejournal.com profile] sakurae and email [livejournal.com profile] bluestraggler and [livejournal.com profile] mirai_noah their Zeta photos.

✿ I've been itching to draw recently. Maybe I should cure that itch. Maybe with Inception fanart? Lol. But I suck at drawing real people though. It's so hard to draw them in their likeness. D;

✿ Oh yeah, I also Brazilian food for the first time on Sunday night. That was uber yummy. :9 The Yucca flour was interesting with the skirt steak, kinda like tempura or crushed croutons. I also had this one soda that was delicious. Wonder if I can find it readily in markets here...
evanae: (li + ice cream = sexy)

I had a nice chillax time at the So Cal Gathering. I seriously thought it'd be CRAZY. But there were enough ppl there that I was able to kinda avoid the crazies...like that one Sasuke who was walking around tied up w/ clear packing tape...O_o;

But, it was great seeing everyone again! I didn't stray very far from [livejournal.com profile] nerdcore's special tent though~ Her cake tasted like strawberry Poptarts, it was amazing. I almost thought they had just spread jam on slices of cake. The burger I had tasted awesome, but maybe more so cuz I totally accidentally cut in line without realizing. XD; Oops.

[livejournal.com profile] aznbassplayer, I totally missed you~ D:

Afterwards, [livejournal.com profile] silvernaofficer, [livejournal.com profile] hajima and I grabbed din din at the ghetto Lakewood Mall's CPK. :3

I didn't take that many pics.
Piccies. )

The rest of what few pics left are here.

I saw 27 Dresses w/ [livejournal.com profile] misschristine19 and her sis tonight. It was cute, nothing really special, but it had some pretty funny one-liners. Katherine Heigl was cute. I didn't know she was in Roswell until Christine told me, lol. Judy Greer seems to be typecasted in the same roles. She was once again the whole semi-bitchy coworker who looks out for the main girl but not always w/ good intent. And oh god, I can't see James Marsden w/o thinking Cyclops. ><;

Getting lost in West LA ensued afterwards when Christine and I went on a food hunt. We failed at finding parking at the Denny's in Westwood then proceeded to drive aimlessly down Wilshire and decided to go back up the way we came but on Santa Monica. We ended up basically back near her place at this cute little '50s diner. The food was pretty darn good but I'm sure my stomach was a bit biased since I was starving. Their milkshakes were also really good. I had a strawberry cheesecake one. X3 Oh god, it was good. I'm so full. Food comaaaa.

Oh yeah. I hate driving in West LA. Buncha assholes in rich fancy cars. >(
evanae: (Oh boy! @D@)
Ahaha, whoops~ I totally overslept. I had class at 9...I was thinking, "Ugh, 5 more minutes.." when my alarm went off and the next thing I knew I woke up around 11...>_<; Ah wells. Gotta hit up the photo lab sometime b4 Sunday then. Gonna go stalk to [livejournal.com profile] moppetnear's house to take piccies of her and her kittie later today. Anyone else who's within decent driving distance have pets and is willing to lemme take pics of them tomorrow? :x

I saw The Prestige last nite with [livejournal.com profile] silvernaofficer. I hafta say, that was a very good movie. Maybe the movie industry's finally coming outta its long time slump of churning out crap? Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale were oh so hawt~ I want Scarlet Johannson's hair, it was so...wavy and nice, lol. D: The movie was somewhat of a mind trip, but that made it all the more awesome.

Lucille's was for dinner. Their gumbo was omg!salty like whoa. X__x; Never gonna order that again. I also realize I don't like minty alcoholic drinks...It's just odd, like drinking toothpaste, yuck. But, Bonnie and I approve of their spinach and artichoke dip. XD

After having yummy ramen at Daikokuya in Little Tokyo with my sister, [livejournal.com profile] xssparkler, Lawson, and James, us girls fought thru fwy traffic and made it to Glendale HS. Tonite was its Coed and All Male Dance Team Revue. We went cuz my sister's bf was in the show as part of the alumni act. Damn, GHS' auditorium is so much better than Marshall's. Dx Ours looks all old and haunted, cept the chandeliers are cool, but theirs was like a music hall or movie theater! The show was entertaining. My faves were the hip hop ones where it was all male cuz iono, they're just more physical and energetic. It just looked like they were having so much fun and it was rubbing off on you. One act was had some of the PARENTS of the dancers on stage dancing to MS NEW BOOTY!!! (Y'know...booty booty booty rockin' everywhere~). @D@; Oh boy, that was hilarious. We ended up staying until the end. The finale act was a Rent medley, woohoo for Rent. XD This revue totally reminded me of when I was in dance the first 2 yrs of HS. That was so much fun even though the moves the teacher taught us usually sucked. ^^;

*EDIT* Oh boo [livejournal.com profile] tinted_glass, Kino was sold outta the Ouran patches. Dx Omgar, Haruhi's dad's an okama. @D@;
evanae: (ritsuka)
Today was go-to-Ren-Faire day. Went with [livejournal.com profile] gottabegenki, [livejournal.com profile] silvernaofficer, and [livejournal.com profile] alie_n. Bonnie was sexy AzN piratess and I was super ninja who used secret ninja skillz to fly by the ticket ppl so fast my katana wasn't peacebonded (Ok...I was wearing my Soul Society uni .-.) Karla and Alie were time travelers visiting the era.

There were a lotta things to do and see. I tried my hand at archery and hooray for like no upper body strength. ^^; Me and Bonnie saw a smexy guy in poofy shorts and thigh high boots. XD Some random guy told me that having ur blade facing down was dishonorable?? Another pulled a nice trick on me with a blank card. Some kid wanted to go back to the the future with Karla. We took pics with a viking and some knights. I saw more cleavage that could last me more than a life time and also a fair share cod(sp?) pieces. Oh and A LOT of ppl can't throw for shit. =X

All in all, other than the awesome hot weather and dustyness, it was fun. Though I think next time, I want to dress up more European Ren-ey instead of representin' the East side of the world yo. Peace out - A town.

today was tiring, but fun. went to citywalk w/ carlos and ended up going into universal studios. so yeah, now i have a deluxe annual pass (ooo ahh). i doubt i'll be going there often anyway, oh well. i rode the revenge of the mummy ride for the first time. that was fun, but it was too short. =\ it was like "omg whee~~...(2 min later)...*stop*. shrek 4-D was funny. terminator 3-D was cool cuz it had live actors but it didn't look as 3-D as the shrek one. wierd, huh? anyway, the jurassic park ride was closed for "refurbishment". maybe the dinosaurs were getting short-circuited cuz of the water. xD

afterwards, we went to fry's so i could get myself an optical mouse. i realize now why my mouse was only $10, it's a usb mouse. @D@ i don't really care, but i have no idea why a usb mouse would be cheaper?

then it was to the glendale galleria. i finally got some of raito's stuff. i found a shirt, came w/ a tie too, so i guess if i ever need a uh...greenish tie, i have one now, lol. and i found the *perfect* colored dress pants buuuttt they didn't have it in my size!! grr...so now i have charcoal gray pants (i think it works good enough) in a size 18 husky, haha. i have no clue if it'll fit me. i hope so...or if not, i hope my mom can tailor them to fit me. =X

later, we went to BJ's for dinner. i had their light blonde beer w/ my dinner. :O that was actually a pretty good beer...not like budweiser...eww... and also had my first pizookie. mmm that was yummie! x3 warm chocolate chip cookie w/ ice creaaam....*drool*

week recap

ok, on last sat nite (aka 7/10), carlos and i went to la cabana in venice to celebrate sarandi's bday. it was funny, cuz we overshot the restaurant badly. carlos was told that it was on the pier...but venice has no pier...so we were like a block away from the beach when he calls sarandi. apparently, he had already started drinking and wasn't even at the restaurant yet. sarandi answers w/ a "yooo mann, waassuppp!!??" in a half drunken slur. hahaha. that was classic. anyway, we found the freakin' restaurant. i got to see helen and ellis w/ his gf. that was cool. it was like half a marshall reunion and the other half was bday boy's co-workers from banana. the food was yummy, so was half of the strawberry margarita i had. we took some pics, but they were all on carlos' cam and atm his comp has gone off to a better world. so u gotta wait. we left at 11 and went to the bean for some coffee and met up w/ ralph, kristen, javi, and maria again. i got my usual : english breakfast latte. damn liz for getting me hooked on that. i got home at midnite and thought the alchohol and tea would keep me awake for a while, but i died on my bed at like 2 ish. haha. all in all, i'd say that was a fun nite.

on sunday i hung out w/ mike, it was fun. we drove around DB getting lost cuz he lives there but doesn't know where anything is. *shakes head* i ate red lobster for the first time. it was aight. the cheesebread he told me about was overrated, haha. or maybe cuz he told me it was yummy so i expected more from it. meh. oh yeah, i also got frames for the artwork i got at AX. xD

on thurs, i went to wash my car (finally, i think the dirt was like caked on there, at least the bird poop was...ew..). i also tried to pick up my paintings from st. ama but like...she had cancelled class. *sweatdrop* mm oh we went to fry's. i want an ipod or mp3 player. :| *thinks of asking the folks for an xmas gift, haha*

to think i'd post more now that i'm on vacation...oh well, i guess not. let's see what have i been up to lately?

last wednesday, i went to the camarillo outlets for the first time w/ carlos, connie, and her sis, steph. it was like a mini-road trip and i almost killed everyone twice. iono, i always drive badly when i'm not in familiar surroudings, though i think carlos has to differ. pif. anyway, we got there and it smell like cow. yippee. it also wasn't as cool as i thought it'd be cuz there wasn't any outlets for the stores i normally go into. but i did end up w/ a paul frank men's (dind't realize it at the time but who cares) wallet and a roxy tube top. carlos did the most damage, he spent like $90ish at the nike store, lol. but i did get him to buy a polo shirt, maybe it's his first one that's not king uniform. who knows. connie and sis didn't get anything. we all shared a almond and chocolate chip caramel apple from the rocky mt. candy company or something like that. it was so yummy! and now, they're opening up one of them in the galleria. o_o!! damn them, it's gonna be so tempting. haha. well, afterwards, we "tried" to go to the beach. we were going to the cove of some beach. carlos said it was deserted and nice. but i have no idea if we really did find it. after a few u-turns, we stopped at what i guess he thought was it. but the stairs went down into a big pile of rocks and boulders, though there were like a couple and a dog down there (don't ask how they got thru it). and 2 of us were in slippers and 2 of them thought it was freezing cold. so we just headed back to the car. i just went down the PCH till connie was like turn left here to get to the 101. we ended up going along a winding mountain road. that was wierd cuz iono, for some reason, i didn't think cali had this. ok well, not at least this close to the shore. or something. i guess i was just surprised. we went to claim jumper to eat dinner since connie and steph had never eaten there b4. food was good. we were stuffed, but carlos still got a slice of motherload chocolate cake to take home. i got part of it. hehe. then we ended up at coffee bean and steph came over to chill. we eventually left cuz these stupid ppl were smoking excessively. so gross. i hope they die from cancer or something. ok maybe that was a bit too mean, but hey, they're asking for it.

zomg, AX is like in 4 days. O_O; and do i have any of the planned costumes ready? noooo. well, sophia doesn't count cuz it's been done...since last year. anyway, i'm starting to get excited now. xD i can't wait! i don't care if i sound like a loser, but it's so fun!

yesterday, i went to a dodgers game w/ a buncha friends. they were playing against the arizona diamondbacks and they LOST!! that sucked. :( but, at least i had fun. it was funny cuz it seems l.a. crowds (iono about elsewhere) are the boo'ing kind. they boo at everything, haha. they boo'ed at ppl wearing other teams' jerseys/caps. they boo'ed at the person who lost the beach ball to the stadium security. they boo'ed at the section where the wave dies out. and of course, they boo at the opposing team and whoever dodger player they don't like, like that choi guy. lol. luckily, this time, we found my car easily. *thank god* oh, it was kinda funny how steph was kinda lost and kept on asking me when i don't know much more than her. well, it WAS my 2nd game so i knew what to do when the screens prompted it but yeah, it was still funny. ish ok, steph, i still lava u. :D i wore the dodgers shirt i bought. but then it got hidden under my hoodie cuz it was freakin' cold. >.> i need to post up the pics on my online album but i'm kinda stuck at the lame comp, soo...i'll paste a link up next entry.

today, i went to my first OLHE meeting (mainly cuz carlos made me cuz of lack of ppl who show up >:P). we had a guest speaker who was this chick who works for the senator of (as i found out) the district that i live in. she was cool and stuff and a real smarty pants being that she graduated from USC at age 18. but she talked for so freakin' long!!!! i thought i was gonna die of boredom after a while. she talked for an hr which left me no time to go eat lunch or finish my japanese h/w. rawr. i ended up buying a subway and eating half of it b4 class and the rest during break, then i lied and said i accidentally left my h/w at home. well, i know the h/w was kinda my fault but i really didn't think she'd have THAT much to say. poo.
