evanaeA while back, I read this Japanese thriller novel called "OUT" by Kirino Natsuo. It was bought on a whim because I had this recurring urge to come out of a bookstore with something, anything that wasn't a manga. I can't say that the book's one of my faves, but it was haunting and kept me reeling and thinking about it after I flipped to the last page and now I'm going to use it for my next project in motion graphics. We have to make an opening title sequence to a book that has never been made into a movie, so like no Fight Club or Da Vinci Code.
While researching for reviews and such to freshen my memory of the book (like hell I'm going to try to re-read 400 pages when I need storyboard ideas asap), I stumbled upon this: New Line thrills to "Out" by Nakata. It left me going "nooooo" cuz it's going to be done "in the spirit of 'Thelma & Louise.'" IMDB has it slated to come out in 2008.
Why? WRRRY???
This book is no where NEAR anything like "Thelma and Louise" other than it has females committing crimes. This much too dark, depressing, and bleak.
