evanaeGah. Darker than BLACK: Ryuusei no Gemini, I don't get youuu. :[
The ending was almost as confusing as the first season's, but this was more WTF than the prior. While overall, I enjoyed the series, I just can't quite justify why some things ended the way they did. I also kind o missed all the action of the first. The final episode felt uberly rushed. I had also thought it was a 24-ep season, so I was surprised it ended only with 12, oops. I can't say that I hated the ending but I definitely want some explanations.
My disjointed thoughts:
Soo...from what I gather. Shion gave his life so that Suou and July can live on his earth copy. Hei possibly didn't kill Yin because Kagutsuchi, the child that is to bring suffering and havoc on earth, i.e. shotaboy!Yin, was born. If he did, the prophecy would not have come true. But they said he was too late...so maybe he did anyway...I don't know. :( And I guess crazy blonde lady, girly twins, Mao the squirrel, the glasses guy and Misaki are now the new Syndicate? AND FLYING CARS. WHAT.
While I'm happy that Suou is getting the life she deserves, I can't help but feel that Shion's creation of the second earth as very selfish if it was only so that she and July could have a good life. What about the rest of the people on earth? But seeing as Kagutsuchi was born, they seem to be doomed anyway. You'd think Misaki and company would worry more of their impending, lol. Unless they don't know...
It kind of bothers me that Misaki suddenly moves on from her obsession over her beloved Li-kun. Though she does look sexy in her new outfit, it's almost as if she feels liberated somehow and less uptight and srs bsns. And also how August showed up when his head got bashed in. But then again he's a magician, he totally pulled the prestige on us. And he was also in the gate...
I didn't really like Suou in the beginning but damn, she grew on me. She's such a sweet and tragic character. I don't get why she died when only the meteor fragment in her necklace broke...unless Izanami/Yin took her soul like she did July and I missed it. Or she is nothing but an empty shell without her memories? I AM sad that both her and July died. Whyy. I want them to be cute and ALIVE together. They are so freakin' precious. I swear I was like d'awing every time they were together. SO CUTE. ;~; I totally would cosplay July if I could look more shota. I want to hold hands with a Suouuuu~ But yeah, D'AWWWW ALDJLSJDLSJ @ July. ;A; ESPECIALLY WHEN HE RAN TO HUG HER AND THEN HE'S ALL HAPPY AND SMILING AT THE ENDeven though they seemed to not know each other? D8, GAH I DIED.
Hazuki is cooool. And omg, I loved the fight scene with her and Hei and and and THE PASSIONATE KISSING. YES. That was hooot.
Who'da thunk Genma was a villian after all. Kinda makes him cooler, the whole I'm a dork but it's only a facade for my evil plans, mwahaha kinda way, lol. I really wish we could've seen his face off with Hazuki. :< And also, wheretf did she go? She's apparently not with the new Syndicate, hm.
I don't know. So many questions to be answered. But still, I thoroughly enjoyed watching it even if the plot was confusing as hell and the majority of the characters have a :| face all the time, haha.
I read that there'll be 4 OAVs? First one (or DVD?) is coming out end of January. Hm. I wonder if they'll actually answer anything or just make us more confused, *looks at BONES* What were you guys smoking when you wrote this story?!
I'm thinking of cosplaying Yin if I have suitable black fabric in my stash. I want to get rid of the huge pile I've somehow collected over the years. Apparently I fail a correctly estimating how much yardage I need for costumes, like grossly overestimate. Though I guess it's better to have too much than too less? Lol.
