✿ Lalala, so I was bored. Which resulted in new icons and a new profile. I don't think I'm up for fiddling with a new layout just yet.

✿ So this post isn't completely pointless, here's my Fanime list so far:

Notes:
:: Kasuka's tentative...who am I bringing this for again? LOL.
:: Micchon may be her outfit in the movies instead of the series.

A couple questions regarding said list...
:: Who's good at props or knows someone who is? I need help with Kino's gun(s). D: I'll pay for materials and labor if you want or in love and food - your choice!
:: Who's made wings before? Or know of wing tutorials that aren't of the feather variety? I have a feeling Suu will be a doozy...

ugh...it cut off the rest...

Also guns in my experience are pretty difficult from a design standpoint. Especially in Kino, since the two guns she uses actually exist(ed) in real life.

If you still want/need my help though feel free to text or reply

Ideally, I'd like to have them accurate cuz I feel like it's such a part of her. I can totally redraw the gun's design and all for you. I just don't have the means nor knowledge to produce a fake gun. Airsoft replicas are pricey, too :x

How would you make the gun? Like out of what materials? Is there a way for me to help in the design aspect?

She has a .22 Colt Woodsman Match Target semiautomatic pistol and .44 Colt 1851 Navy single action revolver.

ugh...sorry for the late reply. School has been way hectic plus factor in cny, way busy.

Anyway, my initial idea would be to use cheap toy guns as a base (handle and trigger)

For the revolver, I would use a combination of pvc pipe, matte board and paper clay to make the moving cylinder part. the only place I'm stuck at is with the barrel and how to make it into an octagon; clay, sculpt, and chisel? mold? I'm not too sure.

The colt seems a little more do-able. It's pretty flat so any cheap gun will work. Cut, sand, and mold the pistol base. Then add matte board to design accordingly

It's no problem at all. Happy Chinese New Year! :D

I think maybe I'll just stick with a Colt and that's it. The revolver sounds like too much of a hassle. Do you think you have the time to make this for me with my help in the details? :O

sorry, when I originally posted it would have been a yes, but right now I'm way too busy with school. I don't want to commit to anything that I can't 100% deliver on, but I'll keep a look out for materials to see if it can be done well and super-quick.

That's understandable. Thanks for still keeping a lookout for materials. I think even if you I guess kinda lead me through this, like materials, certain techniques, I most likely would be able to make it myself. My main concern was my lack of proper tools.

I also found this page which might help. It definitely looks time consuming, but the results seem pretty fantastic.

oh. my. god. o___o Paper!? It's out of paper? Wow. LOL. Not sure if I have the time to make it out of paper...

I have some prop making experience... I've made a few guns, a magic wand, a spiked bat, a couple scythes..

For my Nabuca gun I used insulation foam (used a box cutter and sand paper to cut out and sculpt) and then paper mached with wood glue and newspaper (any paper will do). After that I spray painted it with Glossy Black and then coated it with wood finish lacquer.

Hmm. Insulation foam...that may work. Thankfully, the default one she uses is more rectangular in shape so it shouldn't be too hard. I'm just iffy about the trigger and parts near where you'd put your hand cuz it's more complicated there. @D@;

Thanks!

It's very light! (I've used it to make my scythe and swords too.) Just be careful when you're sanding it like where you do small details like the trigger and stuff.

Random idea...could you like stick a gun in it, like add onto an existing object with this foam? Cuz if I can just use the trigger part from a cheapo gun, then that'd also be easier/less work. But I'd also have to find one that kinda matches what I need. >_o;;

It's doable, there are different ways you can approach it. For scythes and swords, I stick a PVC pipe inside and that's used as the handle. You could add the foam onto a cheapo gun and coat over it with paper mache, etc and do it that way.

Hm, okay. Thanks! I will...attempt something like that if I can't get someone to help me out. :]
