Ichi the Killer
Apr. 20th, 2006 12:21 amI've had this movie on my comp for god knows how long and I finally watched it tonite. After it all I was like: @______@; Whoaa....(in Neo-like imitation)
That movie was damn...it is by far the most violent movie I've seen yet. It was also so gory, it was sometimes comedic, there was this one part where a guy's sliced off face flys outta a room, smacks onto the wall and slides down slooowwlly. But some parts were truly disturbing, like this one girl who got her nipples sliced off...*shudders* >_<
Anyway, this movie is I guess like Saw: you either loved it or hated it (I didn't like Saw). But one thing though, I loved the acting in this movie (Saw's sucked IMO). Kakihara was so quirky it was almost loveable. Plus the actor, Tadanobu Asano, is kinda hot. ^^; Karen and her random usage of Japanese, English, and Cantonese in every other line added to her charm and mystery. Ichi was just wierd. Lol. Poor psychotic fool. @D@; The cinematography was also interesting. It kinda pulls u in and is totally like that of indie films.
The ending though is totally open-ended, u gotta think about it first before u go "aahhh." But then again, do u really know? I've got my theory though. Haha. Also, I wonder how the manga was like...
So yeah...if u want/like a comedic gore-fest sprinkled with very realistic violence, rape, and torture, and topped with a mind-boggling ending, watch this. I'm glad I did even though I am a bit squeamish, but then I'd rather watch this than scary movies. ^^;
