anime expo '05

well, AX has come and gone. i'd hafta say, this year was fun. well, the past 2 were fun as well, but this time i got to spend it w/ mina, joey, and mike. ok, my sis and her friend, veronica, was there, too, but they kept on doing their own thing. we all had a hotel room and stayed out or up till the wee hours.

1st day of it, i got to anaheim at around 10 am. i felt bad for joey cuz he had ridden the metrolink from burbank to anaheim and had gotten there at around 7:30 am. =X we all stood in line for like 4 hours to pick up our stupid badges. but the long ass lines and sore feet were worth it. the next 3 days were fun and funny.

this year i was rukia from bleach and brought back sophia from last exile. i had the hardest time keeping that chunk of hair in front of my face and in place for rukia that i gave up on the 2nd day i wore that outfit. i don't think anyone knew who i was w/o that chunk though, haha. oh well. sophia, well, military sophia, was a big hit again, i guess. since i was the only one in that outfit, everyone else was what i like to call "booby" sophia, aka the cleavage-showing princess gown. wait...there was one more military sophia, cept she wasn't at the gathering...i think...O.o

i was telling myself not to buy more worthless stuff this year and i kinda think i did then didn't accomplish that. i ended up w/ 2 doujinshi's (ed x roy and some PoT one), 3 mangas (vol. 3 and 4 of angel sanctuary and vol. 12 of gravition [finally!!]), a roy and hughes cell phone key chain set thingy, mmm...ooo naruto's fuzzy walrus hat, and 3 artworks. =X i think i spent around $100 all 4 days, but this included food.

i'd hafta say, i had a blast w/ those 3. i guess it kinda surprised me how much we'd get along and stuff. we were all acting perverted, gay, and lesbo. haha. but it was soo much fun. XD RO-wise, we also met ivan and alan. kira (aka alan) called but we never got to meet up. and also jeremy from jap 101 and 102 called, but that didn't happen as well. =\

oh yeah, we watched "war of the worlds" at the block at orange. i think i could've lived w/o watching that one, sad to say. lol. i mean, the graphics and stuff were good and all. the aliens kinda reminded me of the ones in "alien". *warning spoiler ahead* the thing that made it lame for me was the way the aliens eventually died. they died cuz they ate our food and drank our water and our bacteria killed them off. it was like, "....ok...???". iono, i would've liked it better if we had like found out they were dying then like use er water as a weapon against them or if we had just all died. but then again, it -did- follow the novel by h.g. wells. =\

as for food, don't go to coco's it sucks ass. >.> their food is yucky. xP it was funny, as the 4 days went by, we were progressively eating dinner later and later. the latest was last nite, or shall i say this morning, at 1 or 2 am. haha. we had breakfast at denny's. w00t...kinda. haha. oh yeah, NEVER trust that stupid food map that AX gives u. it's sooo misleading. there was a millie's and red lobster that never existed. ~_~ and buca di beppo SUCKS for not opening till 5 pm on mon thru fri. pif. T__T walking like 4 blocks just to find out it's freakin' closed! rawr.

so basically, it was all 6 of us in one room. the gross and disgusting part of it is that my sis and her friend (prolly my sis more) are complete SLOBS. it's was nasty cuz the 1st nite, we came back to our room and found it having stuff lying EVERYWHERE. piles of clothes on the floor and beds, makeup and whatever spread all over the bathroom counter. it was so bad. i know she can be a bit nasty, or maybe i'm used to it, but i thought, since that we will be staying w/ other ppl, she'd be more considerate. i just got really pissed. and also, some of her guildies from RO were there so she and her friend pretty much just hung out w/ them. she never introduced me to them, either. they were coming back after 2 am. i guess she's in that phase where she doesn't wanna hang out w/ her sister and/or family. but it's still hella annoying. i'll be glad when i move out. she has lost my respect for her. this was in a way, the last straw. T_T

there were not that many cosplayers this year, or maybe there just weren't that many good ones worthy of taking pics of. i'll post them up tomorrow...if i can get the damn good comp. oh yeah, we went to the masquerade, which is pretty much a cosplay contest cept u gotta do skits. most of them were lame as hell and the host kept on saying "it's cosplay, get used to it" which got annoying and redundant after a while. there were a few that stood out. there was this pokemon one where the pokemons were can can dancers, including like 2 guys in dresses, ewww....>_<. there was this sailor moon one where she suddenly started to dance to britney and then the guys to *nsync. xD the fangirl in me was brought out. that was sooo hilarious.

I had such a good time. We're definitly going again next year, right? Right? :) So who will we cosplay? Shika and Neji? Raito and L? Chrono and Rosette?
